Bourbon Whiskey Slush

Recipe type: Mixed Drink
Serves: ½ gallon

It wouldn't be a holiday party without Bourbon Slush. It's a drink that women and men like and it's delicious topped with 7-Up or even a little more bourbon. I've always doubled the recipe, and when doubled it fills a gallon plastic ice cream container. Perfect for freezing. The prep time does not include the overnight freezing. Let's get the party started! Enjoy!
Ingredients
  • 2 tea bags in 1 cup of hot water.
  • 3½ cups water
  • 1 6 oz can of frozen lemonade
  • 1 6 oz can of frozen orange juice
  • ¾ cup of sugar
  • ¾ cup of whiskey
Instructions
  1. Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
  2. Add the tea bags and steep until dark. Decaffeinated tea works just fine.
  3. In a large bowl, mix 3½ cups of water, lemonade, orange juice and sugar.
  4. Add the tea and whiskey and mix.
  5. My mom's written recipe card just reads - Mix and freeze overnight.
  6. She has no order so mix as you please.
  7. Place the mixture in a container and freeze overnight.
  8. To serve, scoop the frozen mixture into a glass and top with 7-Up.
  9. This recipe is easy to make and very festive!
  10. I would definitely double the recipe. It keeps very well in the freezer.
